Praise God for Wholeness
Today’s
Reading
Say to those whose hearts are frightened: Be strong, fear
not!
Here is your God, he comes with vindication; … he comes to save you.
Then will the eyes of the blind be opened, the ears of the deaf be cleared;
Then will the lame leap like a stag, then the tongue of the mute will sing.
Here is your God, he comes with vindication; … he comes to save you.
Then will the eyes of the blind be opened, the ears of the deaf be cleared;
Then will the lame leap like a stag, then the tongue of the mute will sing.
(Isaiah 35)

Knight’s Reflection
How enthusiastic are you
when you wake up in the morning? If you remember what you are waking up to,
your heart will sing.
You just need to praise
God—as the paralytic did after Jesus healed him. All who heard him “glorifying
God” said, “We have seen incredible things today.”
We will see incredible
things every day if we praise God for what the readings say Jesus offers us. He
offers us:
--A way to fulfillment: “A
highway will be there, called the holy way…It is for those with a journey to
make, and on it the redeemed will walk.”
--Truth and goodness:
“Kindness and truth shall meet; justice and peace shall kiss.”
--Justice: “Here is your God, he comes with
vindication; with divine recompense.”
--Fullness of being and beauty: “The steppe will rejoice and
bloom…They will see the glory, the splendor of our God.”
--Healing: “Strengthen the feeble hands, make
firm the weak knees…The eyes of the blind will be opened…”
--Happiness forever:
“Those whom the Lord has ransomed will be crowned with everlasting joy and
gladness.”
That’s a full picture:
fullness of being, life, truth, goodness, justice, beauty, and joy.

For
Your Reflection or Discussion
What’s the most incredible thing you’ve seen in the last week? …
in your life?
Daily
Practice
Praise God for what you see when you read in Scripture or what see
in the world around you today.
Advent
Prayer
Father, all powerful and ever-living God,
we do well always and everywhere to give you thanks
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
we do well always and everywhere to give you thanks
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
When he humbled himself to come among us,
he fulfilled the plan you formed long ago
he fulfilled the plan you formed long ago
and opened for us the way to salvation.
Now we watch for the day,
when Christ will come again in his glory.
And so, with all the choirs of angels in heaven
we proclaim your glory
and join in their unending hymn of praise.
and join in their unending hymn of praise.
